“When I first arrived in California nearly 30 years ago, I drank a lot of Zinfandel. I remember the flavor profile of the Zins from the classic producers back then: balanced but intensely flavored, layered with red fruits and a dash of black pepper. These memories are what came racing back when I first saw the old block at Bald Mountain Vineyard, on the top of Mount Veeder. I wanted to make a classically-styled wine like the ones I enjoyed back then. The 2013 ROOM Zinfandel is a wine crafted by a Cabernet Sauvignon winemaker, but with a vision of old-school balance. Break out the boot-cut jeans and flannel for this one.”
